Switzerland-based cybersecurity company Proton unveiled its latest offering — Proton VPN for Business — on Monday. The tool, geared towards enterprises of all sizes, helps manage security challenges in modern-day work environments.

Proton VPN for Business will enable secure access to a company’s resources while keeping corporate networks safe from intruders.

Proton has been providing businesses with VPN services since 2019. Now, it has decided to roll out two new business products to meet growing demand. The company has priced the plans named VPN Essentials and VPN Business at €8.99 and €11.99 per user monthly, respectively.

“In recent years, the demand for Proton VPN from businesses has increased exponentially, and today there are thousands of business users, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies to major governmental and non-governmental organizations. As a result, we’re formally rolling out a Proton VPN for Business offering today,” the company said.

According to Proton, businesses will not require in-house experts to manage their corporate VPNs. The company said it would configure its services according to each organization’s needs.

Proton VPN for Business Is “Fundamentally Different”

If you are privacy-inclined or have looked into getting encrypted security products like VPNs, you may be aware of Proton VPN, the company’s virtual private network. Proton’s new offering has a number of extra features designed specifically for businesses.

“While Proton VPN for Business leverages some of the technology in our world-renowned consumer VPN offering, it’s fundamentally a different product with additional capabilities,” Proton states. “Proton VPN for Business is designed to support small and large organizations and has the administrative tools required to manage thousands of users and devices across complex businesses.”

One such feature is private gateways. This lets organizations segment access to their resources, and only authorized users can access these gateways. “You can limit access to resources based on the gateway, ensuring people can only access the resources they need to do their job,” Proton’s announcement reads. “Private gateways also make it easy to segment and control access to sensitive resources, allowing you to meet the requirements for security certifications such as ISO 27001, SOC2, and more.”

VPN Essential for Employees “in the Field”

The new service will include Proton VPN. The company says this is essential for employees working in countries with internet restrictions. Proton VPN will enable users to access company resources and stay anonymous and protected in regions where people’s online activities are closely monitored.

The VPN also includes security features such as the NetShield Ad-blocker. This protects users from malware and websites that contain harmful ads, pop-ups, and trackers.

“Proton VPN applications have built-in protections against man-in-the-middle attacks for operations over hostile networks. Proton VPN apps will proactively warn you if such an attempt is detected and refuse connections to a malicious server,” Proton explained.

VPNs are useful for everyday internet users in both a personal and professional capacity. You can learn more in our article about the advantages of using a VPN.
